Continuous process for sugar syrup clarification through ion exchange with anionic or cationic resins.
When sugar dissolves in water, the organic and inorganic matter adhered to the walls of the sugar crystals becomes part of the syrup, adding color, odor and turbidity. Passing the raw sugar syrup through a bed of resin beads, which acts like a magnet to attract and trap those impurities.
